Here is what I know based on some experience and opinions from the pulley expert.
Steel material pulley is extremly heavier than the aluminum one, I would say almost 5times heavier, yes that heavy!
If you are going for moderately smaller size pulley as Yellowstreak have done, definitely stick with aluminum.
If you are doing quarter size pulley like I have , it may be better to stick with steel material. Steel is better for gripping and heat dissipation and as the pulley gets exteremely smaller, heat build-up and grip would be majorly challenged.

Cool, thanks for the info.......I will have an aluminum one made now, only about 4"....eventually when I decide to really raise the boost, I will go with the steel.
