Actually, I emailed Mike B. at Comptech and he said the outside ambient temperature shouldn't have any noticeable effect on how the exhaust sounds.

When it has gotten hot outside (80s), my car runs very rough and seems to suffer a dramatic drop in throttle response and power. More than I think is explained by just having hotter air go into the engine. I actually haven't experienced any problems at all with idle.

Guys, I gotta tell ya'...the Comptech exhaust sounds the best of them all. I was the guy at s2kdays making everyone with a different exhaust rev up their engine so dbkelly could make audiofiles of them. The Comptech has some sort of mechanical resonance to it that the others just don't have, and it's on my list of things to get...big time (although I do wish the tips lined up perfectly). Someone posted once that a person could purchase this exhaust through a Honda dealer cheaper than through Comptech. If you have any info on this, please PM me...thanks again.

I brought my car into service today and saw a 98 Black NSX replacing his stock exhaust system. While on the floor sat his old full stainless steel Comptech headers and exhaust system, I must say that the tip does look a bit like Mugen ones. That guy who owned the NSX was selling the car for AUD$130,000 and happens to be an American going back home soon.
