I too think the exhaust gets a little boomy between 3K and 4K with the top up (and even causes some interior rattling because of the resonance).

Until recently, the ambient air temps where I live have been all over the place - 50 at night 80s in the day, 60 one day 80 the next day.

Actually, I emailed Mike B. at Comptech and he said the outside ambient temperature shouldn't have any noticeable effect on how the exhaust sounds. I suspected all along that the change in exhaust note was directly related to how the engine is running, I just wanted some confirmation from others. At times my engine has been running so crappy, I'm just trying to narrow down what the problem could be and eliminate things that couldn't be the problem.
As far as dropping gears and boomy, I have experienced that, but it varies - when the engine feels like it's running really good, the sound is nice and tight with a lot less boominess; when it's running "rough", the exhaust is really boomy when I drop a gear for acceleration.

Hmmm.... I must not be doing it right. What I meant to ask you was how you like your Amuse exhaust and how much you got it for (if you don't mind me asking). u
