LOL, sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
If you overtighten the belt you will wear out the bearings in the SC. I can't imagine that is a cheap fix.
This isn't rocket science though. Put some pressure on the tensioner and make sure you can twist the belt 90 degrees with your fingers (test on the straight edge on the right side when looking into the hood). If you can't, it's too tight. If it turns any further or with ease then it's too loose.
I'd say there is a very wide range of tension that is not too loose, not too tight, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to miss it.

the stock pulley didnt clear my ricks pulleys..
so i put the smaller pulley and it clears it if i tighten it pretty tight but i read somewhere with the comptech unit its difficult to overtightened the belt
