Default Comptech Aftercooler leaking coolant out of refill cap.

It was the first time the temp. hit 80 degrees since I had the cooler and I did about an hour of driving. When I stopped I smelled coolant. Popped the hood and I see bubbles coming out of the after cooler right around the refill cap. It not shooting out or anything and there was just a couple drops on the ground when I pulled away. Happen to anyone else?

not really, but in the aftercooler installation, Comptech actually mentioned that not to fill the coolant all the way up... you may wanna check that ..

Check the little gasket on the underside of the cap. It may be damaged, misaligned, slightly warped or missing altogether. I'd get a new gasket. I fill my Vortech cooler right to the bottom of the filler neck. No leaks.

Anyone tried filling it with liquid nitrogen? If you keep it in liquid form, it wont evaporate right?

Although I don't see any "smilies", I truly hope you are joking. Liquid nitrogen exists at close to -200*C. Rubber hoses and plastics will crack almost instantly. Brass and other metal fittings will not hold a seal. And the gradual pressure build up from it wanting to be a gas will blow your intercooler system. And even if you could overcome these issues, are you willing to top it up every day?

I used to use it to quick free brain samples for shipping. Then I played with the left over, freezing lettuce and grapes and other veggies. Threw them against the wall and watched them all explode.

I like to freeze flys and watch them thaw out and fly away. Great wart remover too.
