Default Compression numbers

I have a MY 01 with 120k miles on the odometer. Today I did a compression test due to a cel misfire in all cylinders and random misfires detected (P0300-P0304 and P1399). In cylinders 1&3 I got a reading of 210. In cylinder 2 I got a reading of 110 . In cylinder 4 it read 190. I did each test 3 times and turned the engine over 7 times each time.

Is there any specific reason why cylinder 2 was soooo low? The car has been running fine except when accelerating from a stop. I can notice a loss in power.

Also can you tell me any options that I have or any options I should consider. All input would be greatly appreciated!

I may plan on going FI in the far future (3-4yrs) but I'm still debating.

Edit: 7/25/11 I did another compression today adding 30 weight oil to cylinder 2 before the test and it rose ~35 psi after I tested. Still low reading but could that be "better" news?

-Also does anyone know any estimates of how much it should cost to rebuild. Or should I just get new engine.

before "rebuild"ing, why not take the valve cover off and check valves on cyl 2? If this fails, drop the oil pan and check for scored walls around cyl 2.

I'd fix this before going FI, as if it's making less power NA, you'll make less FI too.

The cyl2 issue may be something simple, or it could be scored walls. Since the F20 can't be used anywhere else and our cars are totalled all the time, blocks really aren't all that expensive for what they are.

I'd suggest doing a leakdown test now and see where you are losing the compression. That way you know if it is in the head or bottom end.

If its the bottom end just buy another block and save yours for rebuild when you go FI
