Compression and Leakdown test results + Video inside
Hi guys,
First of my s2000 is a MY06 with 60k miles on it. So about 3 weeks ago my s2000 started to act strange (rough idle, stalls sporadically, poofing exhaust etc....) I already had a CEL from my test pipe so just to be safe, I went to my friends place and used the code reader. It turned out to be P0302 or cylinder 2 Misfire, I then switched the coil pack from Cyl# 1 to Cyl#2 as well as changed the spark plugs, but the weird thing was there were denso spark plugs instead of the OEM NGKs. Anyways changing out the plugs and switching the coils didn't help at all.
So I took my car to a local shop hoping to do a valve adjustment (came to the conclusion of needing one after reading several post on S2ki about valve adjustments fixing the problem). So when I arrived at the shop they suggested that I do a compression/leakdown test before deciding to do a valve adjustment. I agreed and the results are as follows
Compression Test
CYL#1: 220
CYL#2: 170
CYL#3: 190
CYL#4: 220
Leakdown
CYL#1: 0%
CYL#2: 53%
CYL#3: 45%
CYL#4: 0%
They suggested that it was bad valves and that I would need valves, head gasket etc. I'm not going against what they are saying but at the same time I am posting this because I am hoping that someone that had a similar problem or has knowledge base of this problem will chime in and give me another way to fix this problem. The shops way cost $$$$$$$ so if there's any other way I'm all ears.
Thanks for reading
here's a video of what the exhaust sounds like (temperature gauge @ 3 bars)

it matters where the air ws hissing out of...assuming you could hear it. intake or exhaust pipe = valves not seating correctly. oil cap = rings
with numbers like that id be more inclined to guess leaking head gasket vs valves.

When he was doing the leakdown test, it sound like it was coming from the oil cap and maybe cylinder# 2

I never had the valve adjustment done. When I first arrived at the shop, I asked them if they do valve adjustments they said yes but recommended a test first. Once the results came back, they said that a valve adjustment wouldn't really help.
