Engines # 1 & 2 seem fine (at least by compression and leakdown). How do they look? Any issues with burning oil?
#3
Engine 1 has 146k miles, and has some wearing of the paint on the valve cover.
Engine 2 has 132k miles, and an aftermarket clutch.
#4
Have any photos of either?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Them's TAE motors
Should be fine, consistent compression is a good sign, despite the high numbers. I've dealt with them before, and so have some people here they're pretty legit for the most part. Never had a problem with them, they always deliver working stuff, and when it doesn't they take it back. I'd dump the clutch and use your OEM one. If it was my money I'd take the one with the scuffed up valve cover.

I like that they include the compression, and leak down numbers. I was concerned as to why the compression numbers were so high, but as you say consistency matters.
TAE was also very responsive when I reached out to them. I have read some reviews of people bashing them, because of faulty parts, and having a hard time getting the items returned, or money back. Good to hear someone recommends them.
Thanks!

Yep agreed, 1 or 2 and probably 1. Ive bought several motors in the past, but I always went for lower mile F22, no more than 60k miles for my trouble/expense to swap in is my general rule, however those usually only had comp numbers and no leak down so I wasn't as sure about what I was getting. Regardless, 140k miles is a few to start with. What are they asking for these motors out of curiosity?

Yeah I was hoping for something with lower miles. Especially considering the reason I bought my S2000 a little over a month ago was because of the low miles. It only has 67k miles on it, but miles don't matter when an engine is seized.
I have considered a JDM swap. Any input on going that route? Is there anything special that has to be done since the JDM S2000's are RHD?
Thanks again for all the input.

Mileage doesn't matter, it's how it was driven and maintained that matters. The engine with the scuffed valve cover has better leakdown numbers, and good compression, that means healthy motor. There's countless S2k's out there with 150k + miles me being one of them.
