Compression Leak
I was wondering how can I tell if Im losing any compression in any of my cylinders? My AP1 is kinda old and dont know if Im losing any compression. What causes compression to gradually leak anyways? I just wanna make sure my car still has its high compression & is performing like it should since its 6 years old now with 50K miles on it. Thanks.

It should be just fine. Eventhough six years is getting up there in age for a car 50,000 miles is nothing on a honda. I've had an integra that had 216,000 miles when nI got rid of it and compression was just fine. But if you want to be sure have a compression test done or do it yourself. It's really quick.

There are 2 considerations here. The first one is the cylinders' ability to build compression (compression test). The second one is the cylinders' ability to hold compression (leak down test).
Bad rings (bad seal with the cylinder walls) and/or bad valve seating can contribute to abnormal tests. Also, the worst case scenario would be a crack or hole in the piston, cylinder or a bad head gasket.
