Default Compatabitily Check pls! Intake/Header/Exhaust/SC

Hi guys,

Am looking to start modifying the engine of my S. I have done some research but was wondering if you could look over my selection and give me any suggestions.

What I also want to know if they will all be compatible with a SC, which I plan on installing soon.

Thank you...

Intake ------> AEM V2 (best intake for price but problems with hydrolocking)

Exhaust ----> Invidia Dual (sometimes too loud, but best for price)

Header -----> Toda or Tracy Sports (read good things aboput both of them, anyone got any dyno results?)

Racing Cat -> Toda or Tracy Sports

S/C ---------> Vortech (coming soon )

AEM EMS ---> ?? Is this necessary and is it worth the gains for the price? Suggestions very welcome!

Thanks to all for your help!

intake...hm if you're going sc route then you don't need one,but if you're not getting SC for a while and want to put some mid range power in to it then i'd say buy V2 and takei t off when it's raining season. it doesn't take that long to install and un install..it'll may b take 30 or less. and exhaust..go with something quieter..it'll blow out your ear drums and you can find some good exhaust for cheap if you chck on forsale forum frequently, header..i say go with ricks, racing Cat go with either megan or invidia good for price. and lastly AEM EMS i say go for it because it's da best ecu for tuning on our cars i know its little price though, but if you can find one for a decent price around 800-950 then get it tuned.you'll get results out of it GL with your decision making. Pm me if you have any other questions i'd be happy to answer some to best of my knowledge.

SC will probably take a while, so until then V2 sounds like a very good idea!

You don't seem too keen on the Toda header...why is that? I have heard lots of good reviews about it on the forum, and the Tracy Sports is 'the best header as voted in Japan'

This is what I read, I am not saying you are wrong in any way, just value your opinion!

Racing cat? the stock cat is already a high flow cat so maybe your talking about a test pipe? If it's a test pipe, almost any brand will do(berks,invidia,t1r,spoon,etc) Intake- doesn't really matter too much what brand you have as long as it's not ebay. Exhaust - It's all personal opinion and pricerange. aem ems - is expensive to purchase and tune. Your gonna need the ems if your planning to do anything more then stock boost on the vortech.. And even with stock boost, an ems will be good.

Is there any other EMS that is easier and less expensive to tune?

By putting a test pipe you remove the cat right? If so would the car fail the emissions test?

If this were to be the case I could just replace the test pipe and pass the test?

Thank you

im not sure i was going to use it with my greddy e01 electronic boost controller, the good thing with this is its made for the Emanage you can actually tune the emanage yourself using the e01 BC. but never really heard any feedbacks about it. im actually selling my E01 BC
