Default Colorless Oil Leak

Hey everyone,

I have a 2000 year model Honda S2000. I took it for an oil change at the local honda dealer this weekend and they noticed a grease / oil leak at the rear drive shaft boot seal (the rotating joint right before it connects into the differential). I saw it had sprayed a bit of greasy substance around the bottom of the car. They showed me the front which was greaseless, they initially said they could change the rear alone, but came saying they need to change the whole drive shaft as the individual part is not made or sold by Honda and that it would cost 1500$. However, the service advisor told me he wouldn't worry about it since it wasn't the differential leaking and the drive shaft was seaping and not leaking. I drove it back with just the oil change and took it for my first drive this season for about 300 miles, when I parked it after i noticed a colorless oil like discharge right where the grease leak was in the rear middle. Not sure if its transmission fluid or drive shaft oil, but it doesnt look like grease as it is very liquidy. Any thought on what I should do instead of changing the whole drive shaft.

Thanks for all your help.

The Lube used in axles is thick, so its easy to tell apart from other liquids.
If its not vibrating or making noise you can just replace the boot that is leaking.

It's not coming from the axle though... This was a colorless watery but sticky leak... Could it be excess drive shaft oil?
