Will you drive when the temperature drops below freezing? If so, I'd change it out in late fall to a 80-90W or 75-90W synthetic GL5. The pour point for LE607 is -11 degrees F, so you definitely don't want to drive at that temp, or anywhere close to that temp. I read that Canada was given a service bulletin authorizing use of a 75-90W GL5 instead of 90W in the S2000 for cold climate operations. If you do a search on the "oil journals", you should find it. Good luck.
BTW-you should check the pour point of whatever product you switch to, just in case it is higher than LE607.

Mobil One is a good gear oil, but Amsoil or Redline are better cold weather options.

The Series 2000 75W90 or Severe Service 75W90 by Amsoil are fantastic gear lubes and Redline oils are always an outstanding choice. I've used M1 products in the past and had no complaints. I just think Redline and Amsoil gear lubes (and engine oils for that matter) are much better.

Hopefully LE will come out with a viable cold weather option in the near future.

Pour point for the Amsoil 75W90 is -51F or -46C.
Those numbers are -49F and -45C for the Redline 75W90.

Mobil One 75W90 has a pour point of -51F/-46C as well, but has a much lower flashpoint than Redline or Amsoil (Flashpoints - M1: 175C, Amsoil: 198C, Redline: 227/221 (NS)). This demonstrates the Redline and Amsoil gear oils are more stable. Not that your diff will ever see these temps (hopefully), but it demonstrates the stability of the oil.
If price is your driving factor in synthetics, the Amsoil is probably the best value for the money. The Amsoil Series 2000 75W90 retails for about $1.00 more a quart than the M1 75W90. The Redline is more expensive than the Amsoil by about a couple of bucks per quart.

Hey Bass.

Just make sure you drain the LE 607 after a good warm up drive.

That stuff is like molasses under 60 degrees.

Don't forget you can get 5% off on Redline in the S2KI Marketplace if you're an S2KI member. Buy a few bottles for a tech day and the shipping should be more reasonable than just one bottle sent from NV to MA.

LE has an alternative already - LE9120. I have a 35# can of it.

I posted on the cold weather thing in the original post, but i agree with the comments from indymac. I am not so night and day that RL and Amsoil are much better than Mobil1 - marginally better is what I would say. However, Amsoil is available in an 80w90, which is a very good choice for Massachusetts. 80w90 is more shear resistant has better overall performance than any 75w90, and has all thye flow you need, unless you live up in xviper-land. Dave, I have been in Yellow Knife in the dead of winter, and it made my Hanover, NH Februaries look like the Cayman islands in August.
