Default Cold start idle speed

I have my 2007 in the garage trying to get all the service work done and I am down to one problem that bothers me.When you first start engine it will idle at 2000 rpm'sfor about 1-2 minutes, then will slow down and idle at 1000 rpm.I would like to get cold idle down to about 1200-1300.The service manual of course says to have dealer hook it up to their scan tool and reprogram, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a simple adjustment without taking back to a dealer? It is a drive by wire car and I haven't seen any idle adjustment screw. Thanks for any help.

That's perfectly normal... In the cold days here my car will idle at 2500 for a while.

Cold engine idle is 2k. A dealer will not adjust cold engine idle - it is there for a reason, to get the cat and the sensors mainly o2 (also the reason why the o2 sensors are heated) as soon as possible to minimize pollution while the engine is running in a closed loop. That is probably regulatory, I don't think a dealer would be able to adjust it even if you wanted it adjusted.

I try to start car and get going out of garage as soon as possible and down the road without hitting the gas pedal, but it still bothers me to let it sit still and run that fast cold when I have to get out and shut garage door.I guess it is something I will have to live with. Thanks
