Coilovers or lowereing springs?
Hey
I need some advice..
Looking at getting coilovers for my S2000, but also considering settling for a lowering spring.
I have got a decent deal available for BuddyClub Racing Spec dampers, I can get them with pillowball mounts for $2100, or I could buy Espelir springs for $300, for the lowered look.
Im more about handling, but as we all know the OEM equipment is very good already, do you think the $2100 would be a worthwhile improvement, in handling?
How do the stock shocks hold up with lowered springs>?
I want to lower the car, but want to do it in a way that it will actually not suffer the handling too much , or the car and its setup. In the end $2100 is $2100, if I could get away with the lowered springs without too much detriment, Id probably opt for those.
The s2k is my daily drive.
Your thoughts are much appreciated.

What is your main purpose for the car? And where are you looking at buddyclub coilovers for $2100, for that kind of money you could get kw variant 3's. Buddyclub racing specs on evasivemotorsports only shows up for $1400.
Anyway. Look up Eibach Pro-kits, they were designed specifically for my00-01. Lowers the car about an inch, and keeps handling almost stock. They are a progressive rate spring. Looks like this is your best option You should be able to pick up a set for $250

First off that price sound alot for those coilovers. But, i had elispers on my s2000. They rode nice but didnt give me the stance i wanted. I opted for Megan coilovers which are great. The only thing about coilovers for me is getting them set up right where the ride is the way i want.

Im located in Australia, hence the price diff. 2100 AUD, = 1840 USD.
The main purpose at the moment, is daily drive and looks. But I will be tracking the car soon, so if the buddy clubs are worth while Id get them, over the springs.
So basically is my money worthwhile spent on the shocks, or should I go springs, spend the rest on a nice bucket seat, and tyres (tires), for the track.

If you are new to the track, I recommend that you do nothing to the stock suspension. It's set up very well, and tuner aftermarket suspension parts usually do more harm than good in terms of car balance and performance. I'd invest the saved money in safety equipment and go out and have fun. The improvement in driver skills that you will achieve will result in much greater perfromance gains than a suspension swap. Only after you become skilled on the track should you consider changes to the suspension, and then I would first search the postings in the Racing and Competition forum before going down that road.
