Default Coil Pack

Posted in wrong forumn first......

so, the head of the coil pack, where it connects to the spark plug, is still attached to the spark plug inside the engine.....the coil pack itself is in my hand....

How can I get the head of the coil pack out.......any ideas....I searched the forumns and FAQ and could find nothing regarding this problem...

I am going to spray the coils and the spark plug tube with some "wire dryer" put it back together and see if she idles normally.....if that doesn't work I am going to be towing it to a dealer, which I do not want to do....

Please HELP!!!!!

Thanks,

Bart

Interesting...
How badly is it melted? any pictures? You could take the head off to get to it but that would be a process.
What happened that it melted do you know??

our cars dont have coil packs. but im just giving you a hard time i know what your talking about. i dont understand are you tring to get it out? that shouldnt be hard, they sell these little grabber things that you push on the top of it and the bottom opens up like spider legs then you let go and it grabs on pretty tight

thanks for the ideas....I will try to get the part out tonight. If I can get it out without damaging it I would like to put the piece back on the coil tube pack. The packs that are not broken are snapped on and then held with a type of white glue.

wondering if adding super glue here would work...not sure about the heat temps, but what do you think about super glue in a case like this...

it is not melted. It is a two peice part, and the bottom peice, which provides the seal around the spark plug is what came loose when I pulled the coil tube out.

I really think that the grabby fingers tool like HondaS mentioned will probably work. If not, you can try long needle nose but probably will not be able to get them down the hole and open enough. You can always just take off the valve cover and then of course you can just take the piece off by hand. The end of the coil is not "inside the engine" it is just inside the valve cover. Now, bear in mind that I haven't had my valve cover off yet since the car only has 38K on it so I may be missing something but I don't think so.

^^^^ if i recall the spark plug tubes dont come off with the valve cover they stay conected to the head.

you cant fit a deep dish socket over it and just unscrew the spark plug?
