Bump as well.

I had this same problem for quite some time now. I've already replaced the whole vtec solenoid and it didn't change anything. Symptoms are that (for the 1st time) I can go above 6000 rpms without vtec then after few seconds there's a rpm limiter at 6000rpm, CEL with code P1259 and car stalling when stopped (or at least rough idle).

I've already replaced the spark plugs, performed an oil change, valve adjustment, map sensor cleaning, checked the wirings and continuity (as described in the technical manual) and the problem is still there. I had one successful vtec engagement 1 week ago but that's it...

Some other infos : I've bought the car with a decat and Skunk exhaust and replaced these with a Honda Cat and exhaust + aftermarket O2 sensor. Could it be linked with one of those ?

Other ideas ?

Thanks !

Just a follow up for people having the same kind of problem ...

It really was an oil pressure problem : i removed the 2 sandwich plates (1 for oil cooler and 1 for probes) + the associated oil cooler and that fixed it !
