Clutch wont engage at all (car wont start)
Hi folks,
-02 ap1
-clutch was replaced by a trusted mechanic less than a year ago
-was on highway accidentally downshifted to second but i caught it in time (didnt over-rev)
-shortly after noticed strange loud sounds when the clutch was engaged (sounded like a yhetti)
-checked master cylinder it was low so i filled it back up
-drove it for 2 days with strange sounds clutch behavior was normal
-drove it this morning to auto parts store
-leaving the store, started the car, hit the clutch to put it in gear, clutch hit the floor
-manually brought clutch back up, turned the car off and now the clutch pedal wont move at all
-1-3 inches of play then it feels like it hits a brick wall (clutch wont engage, car wont start)
I got the car towed its sitting in the garage I'm planning on putting it on stands and taking a look at it before
I send it over to the mechanic
Any suggestions on what I should look for?
should i bleed the clutch?
Thanks for reading any input will be appreciated.
Have a great day.

Off-hand, it sounds like a throw-out bearing and/or pressure plate issue. Were these items inspected and replaced (if necessary), when the clutch plate was replaced?

I polished off the cylinder rod... Clutch wouldnt depress... Bled the clutch fluid with the help of my beautiful girlfriend and the pedal finally moved. I can now start the car but it doesnt go into gear when the car is on. Started the car in first and the car stalled. Anybody ???
