My notchy and grindy feel as I released the clutch pedal was due to both the slave cylinder pin having no lube in it and being all rough, as well as the TO bearing having no lube in it and the TO bearing guide being all rough. The squeak could be caused by the same issues, lack of lube in those locations. Have you ever adjusted the clutch pedal rod that goes from the back of the clutch pedal into the master cylinder? I just did a clutch swap (my second) with an SOS sport clutch and had to adjust the clutch pedal rod in order to get the throw and engagement point feeling right.

When I was replacing the slave cylinder I undid the boot on the tranny and lubed up the T/O with Honda grease. It was DRY as a bone. The clutch felt a bit better after and the squeak has since gone away...but has since returned to terrible feeling (no squeak).

I need to check my receipts, I may have a Honda friction disk... I think I said ACT, but I'm pretty sure it's not.

Slave cylinder, master, clutch and all associated parts are all <8k (I did a 7,200 mile road trip about 500 miles after my clutch swap - from Maine to New Orleans to TX to California, Oregon, Denver, ect. All of which were relaxed highway miles. Not a lot of shifting going on.)

I have not adjusted the nut down there at all, I could try that I suppose. And I should check out the T/O bearing once again and note it's status as well.

Thanks for all the help/replies,

-Greg

I'm also of the mindset if you're already there might as well upgrade and have heard plenty of good reviews for light flywheels.

I figured as much.

I hope you figure it out and it dose not call for replacing more parts. When I had the dealer replace my 09 WRX clutch, it felt great for the first couple of weeks, then presented with similar issues. The dealer told me its within spec and not too worry about, but who knows.

I'm doing my ap2 clutch tomorrow, we shall see what I run into.
