Hi everyone, I am having some problems after a clutch change and I need some help.
Clutch was changed in a reputable shop, not by me.
CAR: 98,xxx miles, AP2, 2006.
It has AEM CAI other than that engine is fully stock. Transmission oil got changed 2 times in less than 15k. Engine oil is changed 7 times in less then 15k. All fluids are OEM or Motul equivalent.
Master clutch cylinder got changed 3k miles ago because it was leaking.
Got the clutch changed 1,573 miles ago, also changed the transmission oil.
Knock sensor and crankshaft position sensor got changed that day(OEM).
Slave cylinder got changed with AP1 slave cylinder.
Old clutch was replaced with Exedy OEM replacement kit/AP1 flywheel.
I drove the car really careful for 1k miles just to be safe after the new clutch.
It doesn't slip, there is no problem with the engagement.
My first problem is VSA light and little exclamation triangle light. This started to come on after clutch replacement.
It comes on and stays on as long as the car is working. If you turn off the car it goes away.
Pushing VSA button does nothing while it is on.
It comes on when I lose traction and stays there until I shut the car off.
It doesn't come on randomly, it only happens when I make the car slide.

When I turn off the car everything goes to normal until I lose traction again.

My second problem is a noise coming from the shifter/transmission area. I am not sure if it was here before the clutch change but now I can hear it clearly.
There is no way for me to describe this sound with words so I have couple of videos.
This sound can be clearly heard when idling in neutral and decelerating while in gear. It doesn't matter which gear you are in.
It is not rpm dependent. Higher rpms only make it a little bit louder, you can see me revving on the videos.
It might be happening while accelerating but I can't really hear much because of the engine/intake noise.
It is not temperature related. It happens when cold or hot.
I took of the shifter boot so it is easier to record.

this is your problem, you'll need to redo it again and swap out the exedy bearing for a honda oem bearing
plenty of people with this problem, while you're at it dump the crappy exedy friction disc because it's going to fail also

So Honda OEM is actually manufactured by Exedy.
Do you think throw out bearing is the reason for the noise?
I do not think throw out bearing has anything to do with the VSA but I might be wrong.

Take this to the bank, as I've been saying it for years. The exedy oem kit is completely different than the individual OEM Honda parts and is one of the worst products on the market. They are mis-using the term oem. Expect the throw out bearing to fall apart at 20k miles like clockwork. I have seen 4 myself fall apart in 19k to 21k miles. Expect it to buzz like hell also.
Sounds like your install was a mess as well, I would never let the car leave the shop with any lights on the dash.
Why was the knock sensor and crank sensor replaced? I think I have an idea what happened.
Seems there is quite a bit of unnecessary work being done to the car as well, you are way over changing the fluids. 90% of S2000 clutch master cylinders leak also, frequent fluid changed would have stopped the leak it always does.

So that noise is basically throw out bearing being bad?
Could it be the input shaft itself, or the transmission is that a possibility?
What is the cause of the VSA light?
That is a major concern for me since it seems like it is also disabling the ABS.
And I don't like losing ABS.
Also I would really love to hear from people who has a similar noise on their car, there are couple of videos on youtube with similar noise.

The nasty vibration in your video is clutch buzz and is due to the inferior disc. I assure you a Honda clutch is your answer.
I don't understand how these shops are not familiar with this stuff by now. It is old news.

The oem pressure plate is made by f.c.c. the clutch disk is made by exedy but the one Honda sells you is not the same you get from thr exedy kit. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a knockoff Chinese part.
