Default clutch/tranny question

Hi guys, i have a quick question.

My car has 92k highway miles and hasnt been driven hard on a regular basis.

I just wanted to confirm that my clutch is worn out and nothing else is going wrong.

My clutch engagement point is really tall and i can pop out of gear without stepping on the clutch. I just have to step the clutch a few inches and I can get back into gear. When racing, the clutch does not slip but grabs pretty well for a supposedly worn clutch.

Based on the above description, all I have to do is replace my clutch right? Is there anything else that I need to look into?

92k miles and stock clutch btw.

Any input would be appreciated.Thanks!

yep sounds like a new clutch is in your future...

wow, 92k on the original clutch, thats got to be a record. You must be the worlds most gently driver or you spend 99% of your miles on the highways.

yea, miles are pretty much highway miles so clutch doesnt get abused most of the time

The fact that I can pop out of gears without stepping on the clutch isnt a problem right?

Yes, it is a problem. It's not supposed to do that.
Try a clutch fluid change first and see what that does for you. I suspect you've got more than just a clutch problem. You may have a transmission problem, too.

i just replaced my tranny and differential fluid last weekend.

What do you think I should look out for? The gears do not pop out when driving, just when i push it out

Just curious and it may have no relevence to what's going on here but, what brands and types of fluids did you put into each? And how long has this situation been going on?

any other input guys?

I just called Boost Logic (supra, SC, etc. shop) and the guy told me that it was normal to be able to shift the level out of gear without using the clutch engaged.

dunno if the same applies to s2000's?

oopps, i didnt read the previous posts before i posted.

I'll find the DIY on how to change the clutch fluid.

I used penziol synchromesh for tranny
mobil 1 75w90 for differential

well, i never really tried popping out of gear without clutch but i just tried it for fun yesterday and succeeded
