Clutch Sound

Here is the latest video. All at idle, with just slight revving. Happens more when I first startup.

If the car is in natural, is it 100% NOT the clutch or is that still a possibility?

The clutch pressure plate and friction disk and throw out bearing are always spinning at engine speed if the clutch is engaged - your foot is off the pedal.
When you push the pedal down, the friction disk is freed and it will rotate at trans input shaft speed, independently of the engine.
The clutch and its related parts can make noise when in neutral under either one of those conditions (clutch down or clutch up).

So got a second opinion, and they are saying that the issue is definitely not clutch and most likely just in need of a valve adjustment/tune-up.
They said it should be done every 50,000 on these cars even though the manual says 100,000. They said it won't hurt anything, and if it doesn't fix it, motor mounts will be in order (both).
Also, cleared code and might have to orde a new gas cap.

Honestly some of the things your are saying don't make a whole lot of sense to me. I think yes you would be well advised to adjust the valves but I have never heard of tight valves causing the symptom you are describing. Make sure you have a shop that is experienced working on the s2k.

I am just the messenger. It's either clutch, mounts, or valve adjustment. Hope it is nothing else or it would be pretty serious.
I am going to Mid Valley. It's the number one Los Angles S2k specialist.
I am going to adjust the valves as Tony recommending starting with that. He is confident enough that it isn't the mounts since he said he could throw in some used mounts if that does not fix as they have so many S2000s come through--so it sounds like either way, it will be addressed.

Did you check the engine oil condition? Does the oil pressure light work? As in...when you turn the key on, does it light up momentarily?
And does the oil light turn on at any point while driving?
I hope its not the case, but that sound and condition seems a lot like a bad thrust bearing or rod knock of some sort.
When did all this start?
An S2000 specialist shop claimed that THAT noise could be from tight valves? I'm puzzled on that.
IDK why tight valves cause a noise...in those conditions. Especially that noise...
Well...anyway, good luck with the fix. Hope they can figure it out. Let us know what you found.
