Default clutch slipping when accelerating in VTEC

Purchsed used, noticed recently that when going from 2nd to 3rd in VTEC there was a little clutch slip. Last night going 3rd to 4th it barely accelerated and yep smelled liked smoked clutch.

Thoughts?

I think it's the CDV is working. I've had mine for about 160 something days and it does that sometimes. Want to remove your CDV? Then click here!

Yes, its the clutch delay working - you'll really slip at red line shifts if you shift fast in the AP2s. You can shift slower or remove the delay.

If he didn't accelerate on the 3-4 shift and smelled smoked clutch, then it sure as hell isn't the CDV. Someone, either him or the previous owner doesn't know how to use a clutch and burned it up.
