Clutch Slipping on my 05
I know this is an old topic of discussion, but I just started having this problem with my 05 with 12k miles on it. I've read several old topics from last year that people stated that their clutch slipped during high rev shifts. Have any tests over the past year proven that removing the delay valve and adjusting clutch technique the fix? Has anyone swapped in an aftermarket clutch to resolve this?

if you still have the delay valve in its probably a combination of that and your clutch beginning to get fried due to it with 12k of assumed hard driving, since it never happened before. i've done it and im sure many others can chime in that the delay valve honda designed does its job by allowing clutch slip.

If you pull the delay valve early, it will surely cure the problem. For some people it's not a problem, because they have learned to time the shifts and clutch action to compensate.
AP1 and AP2 are very different. One is not better or worse, but use different technique.
At this point your clutch is likely glazed to hell. Removing the delay has worked well for most of my customers.

i removed mine within the break in period. and it's still pretty delicate, i have to watch the timing. i can still shift very fast and hard, just not as fast or hard as i used to shift in my old car.

I had precisely the same problem on my05 mine happened at 10k miles. It will get progressively worse over time. I have since then retrofitted the 03 slave cylinder that jeff "hardtopguy" sells. Along with a clutchmasters stage 3 with a clutchmasters lightweight flywheel, That i picked up from ray over at ultrarev. Chances are the damage is already done. You can do one of two things, not do high rpm shifts or replace the clutch and slave cylinder and get rid of the problem.

It isn't the clutch delay valve because it only slips on quick shifts. It seems like your delay valve took its toll on your clutch and is pretty much gone. To fix the problem: new clutch and remove the delay valve this time.
