Clutch is shot, Noise when clutch is pressed
Ok heres my deal. gonna make it as quick as possible.
Driving home, felt a jerk in the car, and maybe a very slight power loss, mayb not. if it was it was very slight if any at all.
Hit vtec and pulled it to about 7k and let off everything seemed fine.
Pulled in my driveway and put it in reverse and felt vibration in the shiftknob so I turned down my music and turned the heat off so I could hear
Heard a fairly loud noise, kinda sounded somthing falling around in the trans. was a rattle and a sortof knock sound, not really like a rod knock sound, just somthing moving around somwehre, kinda hard to explain.
Clutch dosent slip or anything, but the throwout bearing has been making slight noise when the clutch is dissengaged since ive owned the car.
well, I started the car back up to continue my reverse to back in my spot. While repleasing the clutch, half way through the clutch release, I started to feel alot of vibration in the clutch pedal.
when i release the clutch in nutral, the sound goes away.
I was thinking throw out bearing is gone, but im scared it might be somthing else, what does this sound like to you?
I have a MY01 with 45k miles on stock, origional clutch.

Was the jerk in the driver or passenger seat when you felt him/her?
Well...I'd say you could be right.
If you do decide to get in there to replace the thow-out bearing...I'm sure you will do the clutch and pilot bearing. But consider a light flywheel while you're at it...one of the few mods that actually do something on our car.

lol yeah, I wish I could say there was a jerk with me, but I was alone lol yeah I figured it was the clutch, and im not gonna half ass the problem and just replace the throw out bearing, I will do the whole kit, Since I am selling the car, I dont think I will do a flywheel but I will resurface it.

I am having a similar problem on my 01, when I sit in neutral, stopped, and press in the clutch (from just pressing it in a tiny bit to pressing it all the way down) I can hear a rotational sound that seems to be coming from the front of the car. Could this be a T/O bearing or pilot bearing?
