I've removed and installed mine twice by myself. Difficult yes. Hardly impossible.

simply no, DIY clutch change is impossible unless you have a lift, and extra helpping hand. You need to drop the tranny, taking it off is the easy part, putting it back together is the hard part. You have to allign everything properly.
You didn't read the whole thread, did you?

Would Valvoline Semi-Senthetic Dura Blend grease be sufficient?

fperra, PM sent.
Seems like most any high temp grease would work. I have some synthetic wheel bearing grease with a high drop point that I have used.

Apparently not, I too have done the DIY clutch job, in my driveway, no impact, and with an AutoZone floor jack and some wood . It wasn't fun, but it did happen. Please just put an aftermarket pressure plate on the car if you swap out the clutch. It's worth it for sure. My big regret from the clutch job is just throwing another stock PP on.

Gernby: I've dropped the tranny and changed the clutch and flywheel twice, and managed to do it all on my own. If you need help, let me know. I've also got the flywheel locking tool if you want to borrow it. Let me know. I'll be in Mexico on vacation the last two weeks of December though.

On another note, if you want to stop by this weekend you can pick up the battery hold down bracket.
- hmmm.. im down by mexico and I have last 2 weeks off in december..

Done 8 S2000's so far, on jackstands, with a floor jack, in my garage, by myself....impossible for YOU maybe...I'd encourage anyone who's good with a wrench to DIY....

Have just started my clutch swap and immediately had problems with the drive shaft bolts. Most of them came out eventually but are badly burred. One I had to grind the head off with a dremel. So it's off to Honda for me on Monday. And I've still got Sunday left to break some more bits.

Thanks Hecash. At first I was using a 6mm hex head on my rachet but the racchet isn't long enough to give the quick burst of torque required. I then used a breaker bar and that did the trick. But i can't help but think the bolt heads can't be in too good shape. I'll inspect and replace any that are damaged.
