you will be fine, clutches are ment to withstand some beating.

you are definitely fine from what you've described. The same thing happened to me when I installed my new clutch. I had the clutch rod adjusted fine with a small amount of clearance, and then it tightened up on me after a few miles and the clutch slippped. After a simple shortening adjustement it was back to normal. I wouldn't be too hard on the mechanic, it's not that big of a deal.

why you have to adjust the pedal? I changed my clutch because it was bad and I didnt touched anything there... but hey... could be worse... my flywheel got loose after ~50 miles of use... that you wont wanna know how it feels

You are fine. It takes way more to damage a clutch. You slip the clutch intentionally every time you are stopped on a hill.

P.S. "Why do you adjust the pedal?" As the clutch wears the clutch throw changes. Adjustment prevents you from replacing your disk before it is bad.
