clutch question

Default clutch question

Excuse my ignorance, but when the clutch needs to be replaced I hear it

when you release the clutch, it doesn't grab, and doesn't go at all, or will slip as in the power cannot be transferred from the engine to the transmission.

the clutch attaches the transmission to the engine. Most of the times, its just the clutch disk that needs to be replaced. Flywheels can be resurfaced to be more adhesive to the disk, and a pressure plate can be replaced to provide a tighter clutch with more clamping pressure.
