[QUOTE=shastsmae,Mar 4 2005, 10:47 PM] i was wondering if its normal for the clutch pedal to start to engage around the middle of the clutch travel? it seems to grab kinda high.

when i rev the car to see if the clutch is bad i dont do it in a retarded way im not stupid. ok i adjusted the pedal now the clutch is much easier to engage. if i slowly let the pedal up with no gas it starts to engage at about the halfway mark then it grabs good. i guess maybe im more used to my gsr clutch maybe...

Is the chatter that everyone is speaking of a result of fully engaging the clutch/transmission at too low an RPM to get the car moving easily, kind of "bogging" the engine? (IE. approx 500-700rpm?)
Clutch chatter and engine lugging are two different things. Clutch chatter, like xviper said, Is cause by slipping and gripping at the same time. For example, when taking off from a standstill, the clutch is slipped just enough to get the car rolling. The problem of chatter occurs when the pressure plate becomes warped or heavily burned. The warpage, or heavy burn marks (heat spots blue in color) is what causes the clutch to chatter. If the chatter is really bad, the whole car will shake when engaging the car from a standstill.

Lugging or bogging is caused by using too low of an rpm when taking off from a stop. Too low of an rpm causes the engine to chug. This is different from clutch chatter.

[QUOTE=STMike79,Mar 9 2005, 11:56 AM] Also, can someone tell me if this kind of "bogging" of the engine at low rpm can cause any long-term damage to the engine?
