Smile clutch problems..help

hi guys..i own a 2002 model and it has about 35k on it. Lately the clutch has been very rough. I have went to the dealers couple of times and they said it just needs some lube and that was it but the roughness keeps coming back. It seems like guys at the dealer don't want to take a closer look. Maybe they want to charge me for the parts when my warranty runs out or something. anyways, please help.

I would check your clutch fluid. My clutch has a notchy feeling--and when I checked my clutch fluid, it looked like coffee grounds. The clutch fluid is just DOT 3 brake fluid, and if you are familiar with brake fluid, it turns a dark color when it goes bad. I need to change mine--will probably do this weekend.

If you suspect it's something else, take it to a trusted mechanics shop and have them diagnose it. My AC compressor went out, but the dealership didn't really want to check it out, so they just said I was low on coolant, which it was full. So I took it somewhere else and they found out the real problem was the compressor. Don't trust dealers. They're too concerned with making money and getting cars in and out.

This could be a bad master cylinder, bad slave cylinder, poorly lubed release fork, a binding throw out bearing.

I'll put in a second vote for poorly lubed release fork. You can drop the slave, partially pull the fork, and grease the pivot pin. Upon assembly, grease the ball end of the slave rod.
