Clutch problems
I am the second owner of my MY00 and have owned it for a year and a half. I recently changed the transmission fluid at 60k with Honda MTF. I have owned 5 other manual transmission cars, including a MY05. I also have done many racing and driving schools, so I do not believe it is driver error.
Accelerating up the on ramp, 2nd gear shift into 3rd at 9k, the revs lag or (delay engagement) much like my MY05 did since it had the CDV (clutch delay valve) on the slave cylinder.
This happens also from 1st to 2nd, although more pronounced.
I have searched and been reading for a few days about how to diagnose. I live in Florida and it is difficult to find a suitable hill to do that "test."
QUESTION: If I replace the pressure plate, OEM disc, lightened flywheel and bearing, with this cure my problem?
OR are there other (cheaper) items that should be checked first (slave cylinder, fluid, etc)?
Thanks

It does sound like a slipping (worn) clutch... which would feel like a CDV (by definition).
60k is not unreasonable for end of life for an OEM clutch if driven with city miles.
And yes, replacing the components you listed should "fix" the problem.

Your clutch friction disk is probably close to gone, but still has enough material to get you through your city commute.
Post up in the Florida forum and ask for a recommendation for someone who can change the clutch. There are shops or individuals in most areas that can help change the clutch for you if your not comfortable in doing the work.

it will go when it goes. Most likely when you need to accelerate the most it will just sit there.

seems as if the general consensus is oem disc, act pressure plate, and act flywheel.
yay? nay?

I think ACT is overkill if you're not FI. You might enjoy it like a CAI, but there's not much actual functional benefit.
