that's what a mechanic told me also...

he wouldn't bleed my clutch fluid because he was certain that i had to replace my master and slave cylinders...

so i bled the clutch fluid myself and it fixed it...

im definetly going to bleed my clutch first. i checked it the other day and it was lower than the min. line so i added some dot 3 to bring it up to the max. the oil looked like it was old. since i bought the car used i doubt it has been changed out, it only had 54k on it. after adding fluid to it, it became easier to go into first and reverse, but the clutch pedal still has alot of play in it

make sure you clean the reservoir tank also...

i currently use a "sock" over the cap of the reservoir and it's been very clean.
