Default Clutch problem...

Few nights ago leaving work I noticed the clutch felt weird when I started the car. As I got going I noticed the clutch wouldn't engage/ disengage until the last 1/3 of travel. The shifting was a bit difficult but I was able to get home. It was fine on the way to work...

Reverse is extremely hard to get into and I have to smack the shifter hard to get it into gear which makes a gear grind sound.

I checked the clutch reservoir (1st time ever doing so) and there was barely any fluid in there so I went and bought some to put it in. I was able to get into reverse without trouble right away but the clutch play is still there.

Now after driving for a bit more the shifting became even more difficult.

What could have caused this?

I'm planning on giving the car a major service tomorrow so I'll have them check it out but I just want to hear it from you guys.

Thanks!

flush the clutch line and do the maintenance yourself. its easy. look in the DIY, you should find it ok. dealer would charge you $40. you can do it for $2.99.

make sure you bleed the clutch to get the air bubbles out. If there was barely any fluid in there you may end up having pocket bubbles. Also to test your clutch put it in a higher gear say third at about 20 mph and step on it. See if as you approach the higher rpms that clutch will "hang" at higher rpms then come down and catch. Also was this on a cold start? or has the weather been alot colder? I know sometimes this trannys form being cold make it hard to engage at start
