To "Pull" the fork is just as it sounds , once you remove the rubber boot , peel it out of the cavity , then take a pair of plyers grip the end of the fork and pull Straight toward you the fork will release from the spring style retainers , Now you can move it aroud to give you more access. To reinstall it line it up staight and push it back in, you will feel it seat it place.

No plyers needed.
I was bracing myself because I was expecting to use a lot of force, but it just popped out without any effort.
And it popped back in without any effort as well.
I guess that retainer is not up to spec anymore, but the fork doesn't fall out on its own so I'm happy.
Greased that pivot point too.

After droping a couple of TicTacs (Thanks! Billman ) behind the throughout... it feels like new, better then I ever had the clutch feel!
When you lift your foot it "follows" your foot without any hesitation, with constant pressure on your foot.

The test drive after you've succesfully worked on your own car is priceless.

I'd say replace the same part as dbzerk pictured. In your last pic, see the groove inside the bearing? That should be filled with grease.

The splines should also be lightly coated with grease.

The bearing...second to last pic. Has no grease at all. Didn't you just get a new trans installed?
