Default Clutch pedal STUCK! Help?!

Hi. While driving last night I felt the clutch pedal go down and not come up again. Suddenly I couldn't use it to change gears. Engine died at traffic light. Had to start in gear. Pedal wouldn't go down anymore. I heard a rumbling noise even when touching the pedal slightly and the engine wanted to cut out when I did. I read here that it must be a busted slave? Clutch fluid looked almost empty and really grimy! Previous owner didn't care!
See pic and please advise?

Busted fork pivot bracket is very likely.

Thanks for responding. My friend and I just spent about 2 hours trying to click the fork back into place. It's not going all the way up to make contact with the T/O bearing/into the slot. What to do??

I vote busted TO bearing.

No other way around then dropping the trans to find out what's going on. We can speculate all day.

If it IS the fork pivot bracket, you might be able to change it without pulling the transmission.

Heheheee your in for a fun time.
Notes for you:
1/2" set with extensions
Drop subframe about 2"
Loosen engine mounts on bottom
GL! If u have to pull transmission. It's really not that hard, a friend with alot of patience is acquired or beer persuaded lol.
If you have ever done this by yourself I tip my hat to you!
Lol in the end he quit and I had to finally line up the bell housing and shaft to clutch lol, still helped!

Pulling the transmission makes me wanna cry
Its hard to maneuver in that small space while I'm lying flat on the floor. Need the car to be ramped up...
Bearing seems to be fine but not 100% sure.

@billman: how should I align the fork with that bracket?

Here is a small clip that shows how it sits and how easily it should clip in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GkWdHfFkjk

Oh and make sure you remove the slave cylinder first if you haven't already done that.

Thanks man. I don't notice any specific clip or something to hold the fork in place on that video. Like it is just supposed to grip onto the throwout bearing and that's that?
