Default Clutch Pedal Sticks

When I fully depress my clutch pedal, the pedal seems to "Stick" or "Hesitate" when I release the pedal. The pedal releases fine, however, there is a brief moment (about 1" from fully depressed) where the pedal sticks, which makes shifting somewhat awkward. There are no other symptoms such as squeaks or rattles in the pedal. The clutch is not slipping nor is there any burning smell. Is my master/slave cylinder going?. The cylinder does not seem to have any leaks and the fluid level seems to be more than acceptable.

I have 42K miles on the car. Have never changed the clutch fluids.

Any recommendations or suggestions would be appreciated.

start small then progress upward. looks like you know what you should do first. change that clutch fluid asap.

42k on the original cluth fluid is the problem. You'll most likely need a new slave, and a master. Changing it now may help for a while.

Check under you dash. Guaranteed you are leaking brake fluid into the interior.

My fliud was trashed at 4k miles. I do it about every 6k.

Billman...

Can I just pump out all the fluid and then fill her back up or is there a better way to completely flush the clutch fluid?

Using a turkey baster, remove the old fluid.

Using small pieces of paper towel, remove the black sludge in the resovior, till squeaky clean.

Fill it back up with dot3 or dot4 from a sealed container.

Using an 8mm wrench, open the bleeder, and let it drip.

Run about 3/4 of the fluid out, then close the bleeder. Don't let the master get low enough to suck air.

Fill it back up, about 10mm from the top.

My 240sx did that once or twice, i just got by the clutch pedal pushed it in and out with my hand and sprayed a lttle wd-40 into the springs, pushed the pedal in a few more times and voila, good as new.
