Default Clutch pedal now lighter! I

Just got my clutch changed by a Honda dealer and the pedal is now much lighter. Is this normal? The clutch is all OEM.

If you had an ap1, then yes it is perfectly normal because all pp's coming out of Honda now are the ap2 spec which does feel much lighter. Plus the extra lube on the parts will make a difference too. You almost feel like the pedal will go through the firewall the first time, lol.

Yes it's an ap1. So does the ap2 pp have the same force as the ap1 pp? Thanks

An old pressure plate can require more effort through the clutch pedal if its worn out, so you could also feel the difference between old and new there..

I've never seen any definitive proof that the pressure plates between AP1/2s have different pressures.

sooo what if mine is moody and will go from smooth as butter and extremely light one minute then be rock solid(literally almost impossible to push) and clunky five minutes later?

ap2 pp's are definitely lighter to the foot as compared to tbe original ap1 pp's, whether that translates into lower holding force I can't say for sure, someone like Billman250 might be better able to answer that. You haven't been able to purchase ap1 pp's for a number of years so I would't worry about it, it definitely has sufficient holding power.
