Clutch pedal not right
Help! Just installed exedy hyper single, using stock pilot bearing and throw out bearing. Clutch pedal is rock hard and will not move.

Did you install the throwout bearing correctly? I had to press the bearing onto the clutch springs to get it to go on. The bearing has a notch in it that the pressure plate springs go in. Be prepared for a lot of clutch buzz on deceleration also (and stalling the car).

I think the throw out bearing is installed wrong. Old style pressure plate spring fingers are concaved inward and exedy plate fingers are concaved outward. We (I) installed the throw out bearing in the most logical way I thought was best or what made sense. The original way (stock) is the lip of the throw out bearing rides on the inside of the pressure plate fingers and I installed it with it riding on the outside of the spring fingers. I was able to reach aj-racing and was told I installed the bearing incorrectly and that I would receive instructions via e-mail some time today (never received instruction from the beginning-my mistake for not asking). By no means am I upset with anyone but myself (aj-racing has been very helpful) and will be pulling the trans. again on saturday. Total time for the the install took me about 6-7 hours and now will be a lot faster now that I have done it once. The only bastard bolt is the upper starter bolt that bolts the starter-engine-bell housing together (now very easy since doing it). Anyone attempting trans. removal that has questions can pm me, there is no reason to remove a lot of the things mentioned in previous posts (granted I have the use of the shop I work in).

Is there a chance that the throw out bearing for the Exedy is not compatible with the OEM clutch throw out bearing? When I compared my Cusco bearing (Exedy Hyper Single) with my OEM, I noticed that my Cusco clutch finger-springs formed a smaller circle than the OEM. Perhaps your Exedy fingers were stuck/jammed against the OEM throw out bearing.
