If you are talking about the rubber boot that covers the end of the Slave Cylinder where it connect to the clutch fork, then you probably have a leak in the cylinder.
I would take it off and inspect it. Make sure it's properly greased and then flush the clutch fluid completely.
Make sure all the air out of the line and then reinspect the same area again later to see if you are still leaking fluid.

the leak was farther back where the silicone is used to seal where the propellar shaft meets the tranny.
however, i changed all fluids tonight, and the clutch still will not engage.
I am going to order a new slave tomorrow and go from there.
