That really looks like a hex bolt unless I just cant see it well enough, it should be close to a brass color and 14mm.

Sorry for the bad pic and i appriciate your help.. heres a better pic of the bolt i removed. (starter bolt) just wondering if its the right one to remove and/or if there is another one im supposed to remove?

It was a standard 14mm bolt that came out with the 24" extension...

That looks like the lower starter bolt, if the tranny is still really tight, you need to get the top bolt out and with that bolt being a pain it is sometimes easier to leave it resting on top of the starter.

I didnt realize I was looking at where the bolt was.

My access point is from the drivers shock mount right over the alternator and below the throttle body using a flex socket.

So there is 2 bolts holding the starter in?

Yes two, only the top one holds the tranny to the block.

So i should have just left that one in there? Not being rude or anything but why did we have to move the alternator out of the way? can we access the top bolt the same way?
