Thumbs up Clutch Humm

Hey guys on my 03, I notice with the clutch out, in neutral I hear a humming, or whining noise every time i let the clutch completely out, after I push it it, its completely silent.

Is this something thats normal?

I've had this on both my OE and ACT clutch.

Not 100% sure what causes it tho. I would assume something in the transmission is making the noise as its only present when the clutch is engaged.

mine seems a little different, i thought it may have something to do with the clutch as its the opposite (makes the noise when clutch is disengaged).

Clutch pedal out means the clutch is engaged. (the friction disc is clamped to the flywheel.)

Disengaged is when you push the pedal down (you release the friction disc from the flywheel.)

If you can drive around with your clutch pedal to the floor you have a different problem

No worries...

I'd be curious where the actual noise is coming from. Possibly the mainshaft bearing?

It's the throwout bearing and completely normal. They have made noise since 00.
