Default Clutch Help Needed!

I've just installed my Exedy Hyper Single Clutch and found problems.

When i'm taking off, as the clutch engages, the gearbox chatters like CRAZY.

The car does not want to half clutch at all. It just keeps shaking, knocking, chattering when I half clutch it.

And this chattering is not normal it sounds like there's something loose in the gear box or something.

Does anyone know what the problem might be..?

(Other than that the clutch grips very well in all other gears and I'm impressed..)

my friend has a 00 s2k with a 6puck sprung competition, and it chatters like crazy and its on or off, so thats normal for puck discs, and he has a stock flywheel also.

What kind of disc is included in the kit....Sprung or unsprungs, full face or puck style? Generally, if you have a puck style or unsprung disc, you willl get more chatter...

Do you have a lightened flywheel? If so, this may be contributing to the chatter...

I have noticed a slight chatter on my 01 AP1 with original OEM clucth so maybe you have to just learn to drive the new clutch by giving it a tad more gas for a smooth engagement...

6 pad disc is included in the kit. with 4 springs.
The problem got worse after a drive around the city.

I took it to my mechanic and he says my gearbox is faulty.
clutch is not chattering, there's something playing in the gearbox that makes it shake like crazy when engaging 1st and reverse gear.

Hm... I don't know what to do now LOL!

Does it engage smoothly when you rev the motor to 2500 and slowly engage the clutch? If yes, and every other gear is fine, then it may be the clutch....

No, it doesn't engage smoothly for any rpm.

i tried revving it to 3000 and slowly engage it, i can hear very bad rubbing noise i guess its the disc rubbing against the flywheel. but its not a smooth engage, rubbing noise + shaking...

something's terribly wrong..!

I recently installed a Exedy Hyper Single and am a little horrified about he way it bites.

Very rough engagement and chatters like crazy when I am maneuvering the car.

I think it's just the way of the Exedy Hyper Single.

Well did it have any inclincation to do this before you replaced the clutch? If not I'd say there's a pretty good likelihood that something in the process of the swap caused it, but from what Aus said, it sounds like it's just the Exedy.

Who did the install of the clutch?

Was loctite applied to the pressure plate bolts and were they torqued to spec?
