Clutch Fix
I just purchased an s2k MY01, with 18K miles. The car has no mods, and from what I can tell it really was not driven hard. That said, it has the clutch buzz big time. I thought I could live with it, but it's getting annoying, sometimes more than others, but always pretty bad.
So, I took the car into my local honda dealer, Oakland, CA, and they said go fish. I then contacted honda america, and long story short I got them to offer me a 50% deal, where my half comes to about $650. note - honda of oakland's original estimate was $1650+!
That seems like a fair deal to me, but I don't want to spend the $$ if the fix won't last. From what I have read in past threads in this forum, the clutch fix may not be for good. I need some advice about how long the fix will last. BTW, I know the part number they will use ends in a 055, which I have read is the most current fix for the buzz problem.
Please chime in on this if you have any info that can help.
Thanks for reading,
Jim

With 18k miles, you can probably buy just a clutch disk from hardtopguy.com for around $100, spend a couple of afternoons putting it in, and be on your way for around $100.

A Honda installed clutch for $650.00 parts and labor is a very good deal but, it won't fix your problem
Save your money and buy a 2005 AP2 transmission change the rear flange and install it. You will be very happy with your investment
The newer transmissions are a joy to shift
