Clutch DIY & Mysterious rear end click
Alright, So a summer of autocross has cooked my clutch. I have parts on order, but can't find the DIY guide anywhere! I knew I found it once before.
If someone could link it to this I would be very happy.
The other reason I'm posting is more of a mystery to me. Lets say I pull into a parking spot in 1st gear. I then put it into reverse... I get two clicks (one from each wheel) from the rear of the car when I start out in reverse. Then I put it back into first... two clicks again!
I have no other symptoms to a problem other than the noise. I have inspected the only noise I can make consistently when moving by hand is a bit of play in the dif. Doesn't seem to match the "metallic click" that I hear from the drivers seat. The other noise is from the brake rotors. I had such a hard time removing the set screws that I only reinstalled one, so the rotor moves on the wheels studs. But logic tells me with a wheel torqued down, the rotor wouldn't move at all.
Anyone had this? CV joints? Axles? I really don't know.

The clicking is your rear axle nuts. Check the forums for rear hub/bearing replacement.
You can probably get away with buying two new axle nuts and torquing them to the proper spec (More than what they did from the factory) and you'll be fine.
It's a very common problem on S2000s and easy to fix if you catch it quick. If you don't you'll end up replacing the hub and bearing too.
