clutch disengagement problems
I was at the track last friday and was running some pretty hot times. Third session of the day I go out and get on the track. Start going thru the motions, but my shifting is incredibly slow! I came in right away and started packing up. during the drive home, it was pretty much like clutchless shifting. I had to match revs (going up and down) to get it in gear, and if I tried to stop with it in first gear and clutch pedal depressed the car would want to stall, i.e. engine still connected to the wheels. I believe this is not a sudden development, but has been happening over time for the life of my car.
1. It's always been hard to put it in 1st from a start, sometimes I have to blip the throttle to get it in.
2. I have had the 1-2 grind fix done twice, and problems hardly went away. A leading cause of grinding is a clutch that has not fully disengaged, either by user or mechanical error. Since other people have reproduced this in my car, I say it's mechanical.
I flushed the clutch fluid and found no change in behavior.
my question is, what parts am I going to have to purchase? I already ordered a new flywheel to have put in when they open her up this week.

well the dealership is going to do a full clutch replacement, pressure plate friction disk and throwout bearing...they also said that my clutch master and slave cylinders are leaking but i'm going to do those on my own.

You seem to have a grip on the situation, but maybe advise the mechanic when doing the clutch to make sure the new disc floats completely free on the input shaft splines. One other tip; i have found it near impossible to rermove all the air from the hyd clutch system bleeding it the old fashoned way. try this; with all components installed, except for the slave cyl (line attached, let it hang) slowly move the slave cyl rod all the way in, all the way out about 6 times. you'll see a few bubbles come to the top of the resovior. you can try it the old way first, then do this method, to prove the point. good luck...
