Do a solid WOT pull in 3rd. If it slips, it's bad. 3rd and 4th gear are always the gear where you'll notice slipping 1st.
It does not slip on a 3rd gear pull to redline. Haven't tried 4th all the way up yet but if I get a chance sometime (probably at the track) I'll see what happens. This is what leads me to believe it's not the clutch itself since it holds power fine and only shows issues on quick upshifts @ redline.

The AP1 slave cylinder is black in color and does not have the extra valve on the end of it. The AP2 slave is silver and has the valve. You can do a Google image search and see the differences then check on your car.

in 6.5 laps at laguna seca my aftermarket clutch fried and cdv was a partial cause

i now have a stock clutch, ap1 flywheel, deleted cdv, and now my car is happy

if you drive spirited for any amount of time the cdv will help overheat your clutch fluid and cause issues

I know this video is extremely blurry and all, but it shows how you can shift your car as fast or as hard as you want. I have the CDV still in my car, had no issues. Didnt have any kind of burning smell when I came off the track either. This is why I say its modify your driving.

I'm sure you can modify your driving to work around the CDV but I'd just as soon get rid of it entirely, plus I don't feel that someone should have to modify their driving to work around such a hindrance. One thing I noticed immediately when I rented an Elise on vacation earlier this summer was how direct the clutch engagement was. If my S2000 can get one step closer to that feel then I'll be happy.
