Default Clutch combinations?

Clutch buzz is getting to be too much annoyance, so gonna have my clutch out soon. Can anyone suggest some popular combinations for aftermarket clutch parts (clutch, flywheel, etc..)? Just want to get a sense before I do a more thorough search and background research on the various parts. Thanks.

I have an '00 also and changed the clutch out almost two years ago. There were many of us that went with the ACT pressure plate along with a factory disc. The ACT pp handles the of torque of a modern supercharged S2000 with no problem.

The factory disc (I think the last stock # was 055) will give you good life and low wear. Most of the aftermarket discs are problematic in one way or another.

I suggest you change out the flywheel for a lighter one while you are in there. You might as well get the enjoyment the lighter flywheel gives you while driving. There are several good flywheels available. I went the Comptech steel route (made in the USA .) The Toda and Spoon are popular steel flywheels also. Avoid the aluminum flywheels with the rivited on friction surface. The 8 or 10 lbs removed by going to a light weight flywheel won't hurt your performance either.

Thanks for the reply. Would the ACT pressure plate be good for someone who isn't supercharged/turboed? Lighter flywheel will result in what type of extra "enjoyment" - is it faster revving?

Finally, any ideas for online retailers where I can find your recommended parts for good prices?

Thanks again.

I ran the ACT clutch for over a year while NA and it was an improvement over stock. The enjoyment certainly includes faster revs and better response. It's just more racecar like.

I really like my Mugen Pressure Plate OEM clutch and flywheel combo. Makes for a very drivable clutch with enough strength to do what I ask.

Would I be making an improvement (or is it even advisable) if I went with OEM clutch disk and pressure plate, and a comptech steel lightweight flywheel?
