clutch bleed problems
Hey Guys!
I red the how to and searched as well but still can't find the answer. I just bought the s2000 and the cluch was engaged all the way on the top so after searching on the forum and checked my clutch fluid (was dark brown) I decided to bleed the clutch. Ok here is what I'm doing . I open the reservoir top and with the car in the air I crawl underneath . GF sitst in the car and I open the valve and ask her to slowly pimp on the pedal , when I see fluid coming out I close the valve and ask her to keep punping 2 or 3 times than the last time I ask her to hold it all the way in . I open the valve for a sec air blows out I close the valve and ask her to pump again 2-3 and repeat the procedure . I usually do the whole thing 5 or 6 times untill no bubbles coming out at all . BUT after blled the whole thing the clutch feels even lighter than before and only has about 3" engagement route until hits the floor. Is enyone met with the same problem before ?
I suspect old clutch fluid (open bottle)
Old master cylinder (51k on the car)
Or I can't bleed the clutch correctly
Please give me some help on this

If that's the way you did the bleeding, then you didn't read the "How To" very well. That doesn't resemble anything like the way it should be done. I suggest you go read it again. Are you refering to my "How To" in the FAQs at the top of UTH?
Also, after you do the bleed correctly, you may be in need of adjusting the clutch pedal rod, but do the bleed right first, then come back if you need to know how to do the clutch rod. It's a last resort and shouldn't be messed with till other issues are taken care of.
