Default clutch

I recently picked up an 2002 s2000. I have no clue about cars but I am interested in modifying my car to get the peak performance out of it. I recently changed out my intake to an injen cold air and that is all I have done. I will be needing a new clutch soon so I was wondering if its worth it to get an exedy or act clutch, p. plate, and flywheel OR is it better to stick with OEM? I want performance but I also want it to last and not give out quickly. please help, it would be greatly appreciated

How many miles are on the car and or clutch? Is it slipping now?

If not planning on boosting the car Oem will be plenty.

If planning to add boost ever or just wanting to do an upgrade to do one. I would go with the Oem clutch disc and bearings etc and the ACT HD pressure plate. Great combo!

What do you mean the clutch is rough when shifting? I'd imagine your clutch is perfectly fine if its not slipping. Are you talking about notchy shifting?

yea i guess you can say that. It feels like it hits something while shifting, its never perfectly smooth. I might just be paranoid, but I do want to change it to improve performance as well.

My 06 is the same when cold or when I change to early on the rev range.

If you plan staying N/A then Honda allready did 93,75% of the work for you.
Getting the last 6,25% will cost.

No, more noise will not make it fast, it will only make more noise.

Lowering is cool, but without spending $$$$ on parts it will only be cool, not fast.

The rest of the engine blingbling is only that, it doesn't really work.

As for the clutch: you can go for a stronger PP with lighter or OEM flywheel, always use OEM disk.
You'll be adviced to change your clutch behavior too, with a stronger PP, like don't keep the clutch in at traffic lights and remove clutch in to start feature.

My advice: get a good set of tires on OEM wheels and a proper alignment = enjoy the car as it is for at least a year.

I suspect your clutch is 100% fine and giving you its peak performance - its your transmission fluid that needs replacing, I'd say. A notchy shift feel in an AP1 is a very common sign of this. Also, if you really do have no clue about cars I respectfully suggest you do some autocrossing and track days before worrying about mods - the car as stock can do way, way more than a newbie driver can.
