Cool, thanks for the info.

I bought my Evo IX brand new, with 5 miles on the odo. I broke it in in a similar fashion: first 750 miles or so as directed by the manual - varying the throttle amount and revs, engine braking, and keeping below 5000rpm. Did an oil change at 750 miles and started progressively exploring higher revs, and after 1K I just started the beat the sht out of it.

I now have 70K miles on it, and it has never burned a drop of oil between changes.

My AP1 OTOH, which I bought used with 20K miles, burns a quart every 1.5-2K depending on how often I vtec. I wish I had the chance to break my S in as well.

[QUOTE=slipstream444,Oct 25 2010, 03:44 PM] You can order Amsoil online - get on their Preferred Customer Program for $10 (for 6 months) and stock up on the oil.

Exactly what I do. It takes one day for UPS to get my oil from my distributor to my door. I really don't get the "can't find Amsoil locally" complaints...

Then again, I hate shopping in most B&M stores (especially Wally World).
your running amsoil in your motor? If so what weight? Is it a lot better than other oil u have used? I have heard great stuff about it!
