My 03 has clicks when the brakes are applied. On mine it's the rear pad chatter on the slot rotors.

No big deal.

For me it makes no difference if the brakes are applied or not. I have run slotted rotors for quite some time with no clicking.

Any of you guys with the clicking have center caps in your wheels? I have a small click when I go from reverse to drive that I think is the center cap. Would be worth pulling the caps to see if it goes away.

Same issue with or without caps. I don't run caps at the track.

What kind of bearings did you use? The fact that it went away temporarily makes me think that it really was the bearings, and you just killed them again. Maybe they're lower quality bearings than OEM? Or maybe the shop isn't getting them fully seated or something silly like that? Might be worth getting some OEM ones and going to another shop.

They are new OEM bearings and hubs. The shop that installed them has done numerous hubs and bearings on S2000s without issue. I am going to have them loosen and retorque the front axle nut I think maybe that has just loosened up?

Was there a TSB for the front axle nuts like there was with the rears?

Definitely possible.

Also do you have ducting for the brakes? My s2000 is my autocross car so I don't know how the ducting plays out on these cars but I wonder if maybe there's something wrong with how you're ducting and maybe you're like cooling one side of the hub and causing the bearings to fail prematurely? Super shot in the dark but you never know.

Yeah no ducting yet for me. I am going to return to my friend's shop on Tuesday and see if we can re-torque the axle nut and go over everything in and around the front hubs and make sure it isn't just something else that has loosened up. The axle nut theory is definitely the most promising I think, hope that will fix it.

I hate to bump this thread but is anyone else familiar with this issue? I'm getting what I can best describe as a playing card through bicycle spokes sound from the right rear on my car that slows down as I slow down. Car has never been tracked and only has 44k miles. I'd hate to have to replace a wheel bearing this soon.
